Rwanda International Trade Fair opens officially at Gikondo expo Ground

Rwanda International Trade Fair (RITF) is one of Rwanda’s major annual events organized by Private Sector Federation (PSF) in conjunction with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and East African Community Affairs (MINEACOM). Such events started far back in 1978, by then organized by the Ministry of Commerce itself and opened to international participation mainly from neighbour countries in 1998.

Rwanda International Trade Fair is commonly known as specialist market places that allow exhibitors to promote their products and services, reach new customers and generate new sales. The event provides visitors the opportunity to find out about the products and services on display. It also provides business people with the opportunity to network and exchange ideas and share experiences.

The success of these trade fairs was mainly attributed to the quality of the exhibition in terms of exhibits, the level of networking among the national and foreign exhibitors and the support rendered by the government of Rwanda through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and East African Community Affairs (MINEACOM).

Yesterday, officially opening the expo, Prime Minister Anastase Murekezi, called on the private sector to strive to increase investments and the country’s exports. Ruzibiza Stephen, chairman Rwanda Private Sector Federation called on the local business community to strengthen trade and economic cooperation with international exhibitors. All exhibitors are upbeat the expo will provide them ground to network and share experiences.
